Yesterday, my reader was filled with posts about Dan Schawbel. It will only be a slight exageration when I say that at least twice an hour, I heard about Dan and his new book, Me 2.0.
Everyone was talking about it. Even people who had admitted that they had yet to read the book.
I think its fabulous.
I have to say that I don’t actually read Dan’s blog. I search it for information. It is amazing how his built this identity for himself as the Personal Branding Expert.
I finally ordered his book this morning. I went back and forth on it for awhile but I caved and ordered.
I say caved because I’ve tried to cut back on my book buying habit and limiting myself to one book a month seemed like a really good idea at the time. Except now I can’t go to a book store or on Amazon without adult supervision because I’m like a kid in a candy store with a credit card.
So I had this thing where I wasn’t actually sure I wanted to buy Dan’s book. After all, it is only April 8th and I still have a very long time before I get to buy another book. My library card was just not going to cut it.
I revised my rule. And this is where you come in.
For second quarter 2009, I’ll only be purchasing books published by twenty-somethings. Are you a twenty-something? Have you published a book? Leave a comment below, telling me the title and the name you published it under and I’ll get it. At the end of the quarter, I’ll do a give away for my favorite piece of reading.
Or, if you have a friend who meets the two requirements listed above, let me know as well.
I can’t wait to start reading.

1What if someone was forty-something, but wrote two books. Can you divide it in half?

2It’s ok; I have the book addiction issue also. Solidarity will see us through (to the next book).
