Just wanted to throw a quick comment up RE: your bit on Jesus. It reminded me of the part in "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" where the children are talking to Mr. & Mrs. Beaver about Aslan the Lion (who we know is meant to metaphorically represent Jesus) and Susan asks, "Is he safe?" to which she gets the oh-so-perfect response from Mr. Beaver:

"Safe?...Who said anything about safe? Course he isn't safe...but he's good."

That's an excellent way to think about Jesus.

"I once heard a sermon that Jesus has become a safe package for us to accept salvation (I cannot remember for the life of me who I heard it from so if you recall, let me know). But Jesus wasn’t a safe package to accept two thousand years ago. Two thousand years ago, salvation in the form of Jesus was pretty radical concept. It wasn’t safe and it wasn’t comfortable but it did change the world. Regardless of your religious beliefs, Jesus changed the world you live in."

Hey, I found you on Twitter while surfing election 2008.

I just blogged on whether the Bible is an accurate historical document + whether the Jesus story is unique.

Then I stumbled on the above quote. How strange.

Tks!

Good piece on the Obama gal. ;) Eye-opening, I certainly had enough of the mudslings in the mainstream media that such a personal encounter feels so REAL.

Check out my post on Jesus, if you wish and share your thoughts.

@Norcross - So I've been chewing on your comment for a bit now. I think every single person knows where their comfort zone is. But I also think a lot of them are coming to realize that their comfort zone isn't a healthy place to be.

I think a lot of people will end up clinging to things that seem slightly different but still comfortable. And I keep having this idea in my head that current politics are like watching teenagers date each other but I still need to develop it a bit more.

Food for thought, but do you think that given the current state of affairs, coupled with the extreme division and partisianship in the country, people will even know what their comfort zone is anymore?
